I've fallen out of love with swapping laptops on my Core X Chroma twice a day, so I'm playing with different options.

My personal machine is a Razer Blade Stealth (RBS-late 2020) and my work machine is a MacBook Pro (MBP-late 2019).

Right now, I'm trying to improve my work from home set up. I really hope the next iteration of Razer's eGPU enclosure skips the ASMedia controller even with the ASMedia driver, my USB ecosystem seems to be somewhat fragile (though definitely improved). I know this thread is 5 months old now, but I wrote that linked post on egpu.io and wanted to say that I'm glad it was able to help some people! I stumbled across this thread googling to see if there's an update to the ASMedia driver (doesn't appear to be). This was driving me insane and I hope it helps out as many of you as possible, if you need any further help leave a comment. After the drivers have been updated the (Micorosft) name should disappear from the end of the driver name. ***Remember to do this for every "AsMedia USB3.1 eXtensible Host Controller (Microsoft)" in your device manager.
